Hollywood Creative Campus LLC has submitted detailed plans for a substantial expansion of its studio facilities at 1000 N Highland Ave, a move that underscores the continued boom in content production in Los Angeles. The $45 million project proposes the construction of two new, cutting-edge soundstages, designed to accommodate large-scale film and television productions, alongside a new three-story production office building.
The new soundstages will feature advanced acoustics, climate control, and rigging capabilities, catering to the evolving technical demands of modern filmmaking. The accompanying office building will provide essential production support spaces, including executive offices, editing suites, and wardrobe departments, all designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing campus infrastructure.
The permit is currently under review by the city's planning department, with particular focus on noise mitigation strategies and traffic management during construction, given the dense urban environment of Hollywood. This expansion is anticipated to create hundreds of construction jobs and, once operational, numerous permanent positions in the entertainment industry. The project aims to bolster Hollywood's status as a global production hub, with an estimated completion date in late 2028 if approvals proceed smoothly.
