Privacy Policy

Effective date: January 1, 2025 · Last updated: March 1, 2025

1. Introduction

LA Development Insider ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by ABR Media, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website, newsletter, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide: When you subscribe, we collect your name, email address, and payment information. Payment data is processed by Stripe and is not stored on our servers.

Information collected automatically: We collect usage data including pages visited, time spent, referring URLs, browser type, device type, and IP address. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve the Service and measure analytics.

Social media data: If you interact with our social media content on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, or X (Twitter), those platforms may share engagement data with us in accordance with their own privacy policies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: (a) deliver and improve the Service; (b) send newsletters and editorial content you have subscribed to; (c) process payments and manage subscriptions; (d) respond to your inquiries; (e) analyze usage patterns to improve content and features; (f) comply with legal obligations; and (g) publish content to social media platforms on behalf of the publication.

4. Social Media and Third-Party Integrations

We use automated tools to publish editorial content to social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter). These integrations operate using platform-authorized API access tokens. We do not collect or store personal data from social media users through these integrations. Content published via these tools is subject to each platform's terms of service and community guidelines.

Our use of the TikTok Content Posting API is limited to publishing content to our own publication account. We do not access, collect, or process data from other TikTok users. The access tokens used are scoped exclusively to content publishing permissions.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with: (a) service providers who assist in operating the Service (e.g., Stripe for payments, Beehiiv for newsletter delivery, analytics providers); (b) law enforcement or regulatory authorities when required by law; or (c) a successor entity in the event of a merger or acquisition. All service providers are contractually required to protect your information.

6. Cookies

We use cookies to maintain session state, remember preferences, and analyze traffic. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain features of the Service.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at [email protected]. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; request deletion of your information; opt out of marketing communications; and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
